Stanford in Madrid

Main content start

The Stanford Program in Madrid offers a unique combination of linguistic and cultural immersion, an engaging, experience-based academic curriculum, and strong support from a dedicated local team. At the heart of BOSP Madrid is a deep commitment to helping students truly engage with the language, culture, and society around them.

Through the Madrid program, Stanford undergraduates have the opportunity to take academic courses, live with Spanish families, study the Spanish language, and engage in cultural activities in Europe’s third-largest city. The program is available during Autumn, Winter and Spring quarters. This location requires proof of language proficiency for all participants, including native Spanish speakers. Please refer to the Language Prerequisite section for more information.

This picture was taken after a long night of working in the Teide Observatory with our Astronomy class. We were all pretty tired because we only had intermittent sleep between the turns we took at operating the telescope, but seeing the sunrise at the top of this mountain was an incredible sight that I won't soon forget! - Dorian Lumarque
